The Excelsior P&C are excited to bring our school community together through a special cookbook created by our families, for our families. This project is a celebration of the recipes, traditions and stories that make our school community unique.
We invite students, parents, carers and staff to submit their favourite recipes: whether it is a weeknight staple, a cultural dish, a sweet treat or something that holds special meaning in your family. Every contribution helps create a cookbook that reflects the diversity and spirit of our school.
All submitted recipes will be compiled into a beautifully printed cookbook, which will be available for purchase later this year. Funds raised will go directly back into supporting our school.

The Details
How do I submit a recipe?
We have partnered with Bookdelish, an Australian company that assists in compiling recipes and printing cookbooks for fundraisers such as ours. You’ll find the link on this page that redirects you to our personal Excelsior Primary School dashboard. All submissions can be managed on this website and you’ll be sent an email after including a link to make any edits after if needed.
You can submit any recipe you love: family favourites, cultural dishes, quick meals, lunchbox ideas, or desserts. We welcome a wide variety to reflect our diverse community. All members of our school community are welcome to contribute, including students, parents, carers and staff. We encourage student contributions, although younger children may need help writing or typing their recipe.
What details should I include in my recipe/s?
We appreciate your help in keeping to our format including: Recipe name, small “About this recipe”, Prep time, Cook time, Serves / Makes, Ingredients, Method, Tips & Suggestions and if you wish, to include a photo. This allows the cookbook to remain consistent in its design.
Recipes will typically be credited with your family name or childs name. We love hearing the stories behind recipe, whether it is a cultural tradition, a memory, or why your family loves it and these will can be included in the “About this recipe” box.
All recipes and submissions will close on Friday August 28, 2026.
Can I submit more than one recipe? What happens if there are multiple of the same dish?
Our goal is for each family at Excelsior Primary to have one family-favourite recipe published. Contributing family names will be included in the cookbook. You are welcome to submit more than one recipe if you wish! Simply re-click the Bookdelish link to get back into our portal.
If we receive multiple versions of a popular recipe, we may ask for alternatives by contacting you via email. Rest assured, your email address will not be published and is only used for contacting you directly about your submission.
How can I order a copy of the cookbook?
Our P&C members will manage the design and layout of the cookbook once all recipes are submitted at the end of August. Once finalised, we will send out an order form with all students for those interested in purchasing their own cookbook (a great Christmas gift idea!). This will be at the end of Term 3 / early Term 4, with all orders arriving back to the school later in Term 4 before the end of the school year.
The Excelsior Community Cookbook will be professionally printed and sold within our school community. Funds raised will go back to the P&C to help us continue to support school initiatives and programs for our students.
